As a pilot, you’ll be faced with many different challenges during your career. One of the most challenging is attaining a type rating. LOFT provides an Initial Citation Training Course as well as Recurrent Citation Training at our location in Carlsbad, California. You will need to complete your initial training course before you can begin recurrent training. Our goal is to provide pilots with the skills and knowledge necessary to safely operate a CJ aircraft. Below, we will let you know what to expect during your first CJ type rating training. Contact us today with any questions.

Scheduling Your Classes

LOFT operates on an on-demand basis. We stand out from other companies in that we work around our clients’ availability. Our company operates seven days a week, 365 days a year, allowing us to keep our classes small and schedules flexible. This will ensure our clients receive their proper training on their time, giving them the confidence to fly a CJ aircraft and earn their type rating when they are able to. When you first start your type rating training, you can let us know the dates that you are available and we will have a course scheduled for you to start your training.

Ground School

During the ground school portion of your CJ training, you will learn all about CJ systems and how to operate them properly. Our citation instructors are experienced pilots that have successfully completed their own type rating courses and possess thousands of flying hours. They know exactly what it is like for students going through initial or recurrent training as they’ve been there themselves. The ground school will cover operating procedures, emergency procedures, aircraft systems and much more. You will be able to learn how to use your strengths and weaknesses and build confidence as you continue through your training.

Simulator Training

The simulator portion of your training will give you the opportunity to practice flying a CJ aircraft, providing you with valuable experience in a realistic environment. You will be able to experience different weather conditions, emergencies, maneuvers, and other challenging scenarios. With our state-of-the-art simulators, you’ll be able to feel as if you are actually in the cockpit of a CJ aircraft. Once you’ve completed both the ground and simulator training portions, you will be more confident in your ability to fly in a CJ.

Checkride

The checkride is the final step in your type rating training. Our instructors at LOFT will do everything they can to ensure you are fully prepared for the checkride. With our CJ training and citation initial training, you will have learned all you’ll need to know from the best instructors in the industry. You will be tested by an FAA examiner on all of the knowledge and skills you have learned during your initial and recurrent training courses. When you pass the checkride, you will be able to add a CJ type rating to your pilot certificate.

Don’t be nervous about your first type rating. Our seasoned instructors who have years of experience in flying jets, commercial airliners, and CJ jets will provide you with the knowledge, confidence and keys to success that will help you through your type rating. You will learn everything you need to know about maintaining safe operations of a CJ aircraft, as well as handling any emergencies that may arise during your flight time. When you train with LOFT, you will be taught by the best instructors in the industry. Check our course availability to get started and contact us today to learn more!
