training for non-u.s. citizens

Not sure which applies?

Many international clients require both TSA approval and the appropriate visa depending on their training program.

If you’re unsure which requirements apply to you, review both sections below.

TSA Requirements

TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA)

Required for most non-U.S. citizens receiving flight training.

If this applies to you:
• You are not a U.S. citizen or U.S. national
• You are seeking flight training in the United States
• You are pursuing a type rating or recurrent training
• You are working toward a U.S. airman certificate

Visa Requirements

U.S. Visa Requirements

Required depending on the type of training you are attending.

If this applies to you:
• You are traveling to the U.S. for training
• Your training results in a new certification or type rating
• You need to determine the correct visa before arrival
