This course is designed to prepare the pilot for the transition to a new aircraft. The aircrafts systems are covered in the classroom and then practiced in the simulator. Upon completion the pilot is ready SOE in the aircraft (supervised operating experience). Course also meets the requirements of aviation insurance companies Initial training, and requirement for IFR Recent experience 61.56(c) in make and model aircraft.
Day One Morning
SOP’s (use of checklist and altitude calls)
CFIT (low visibility approach hazards)
2 hrs Simulator:
Familiarization, maneuvers, turns, climbs, descents, power & configurations, VOR tracking, VOR approach
Day One Afternoon
2 hrs Classroom:
ATC and Emergencies (what can ATC do?)
Multi-Engine Departure (engine failure procedures/take-off)
2 hrs Simulator:
IFR Procedures, ILS, VOR, GPS approaches, and holding
Day Two Morning
4 hrs Classroom Aircraft systems:
AFM, Limitations. Powerplant, Propeller System, Electrical System
Day Two Afternoon
4 hrs Classroom Aircraft Systems:
Fuel System, Enviormental Systems
Landing Gear and Controls, Performance Charts
Day Three Morning
2 hrs Classroom:
Thunderstorm Avoidance (methods to avoid convective weather)
Multi-engine Enroute and Terminal (engine out procedures)
2 hrs Simulator:
LOFT IFR Flight, abnormal procedures, system failures
Day Three Afternoon
2 hrs Classroom:
FAR’s Part 61
FAR’s Part 91
2 hrs Simulator:
LOFT IFR Flight, abnormal procedures, system failures
Day Four Morning
2 hrs Classroom:
Aircraft Icing
2 hrs Simulator:
LOFT IFR Flight, abnormal procedures, system failures
I’m in the beginning stages of buying a 337 Skymaster Riley Conversion. I need a lot of training! I need initial training, twin rating and IFR certified. Can you give me an estimate as to the time I would need to spend at your location and your best estimate as to my cost? Using your simulator and instructors and my aricraft.

We suggest you come in and get multi engine rated and then take the Initial. Legally, to fly the Skymaster, you need a multi engine rating. We can do your Initial for you at the same time, or you can split it up as needed. We can help you. Call us at 800 727 1014.

I am seriously considering a Riley Rocket P337, but have found a scarcity of transitional training for the plane. Numerous organizations have abandoned the type, or lost their aging 337 instructors. Are you still offering 337 training? I currently hold a Comm-MEL-Instrument rating.

Of course we still offer both Initial and Recurrent training for all Skymaster models.
Our Initial is three and a half days long and is only $1999. Our 2 1/2 day Recurrent
is only $1599. Both courses feature 10 hours of sim time, all flown left seat, alone
