RTC was founded in 1988 by then air traffic controller John Killeen. Killeen saw how simulator training helped reduce accidents for the airlines. He became convinced it could do the same thing for general aviation. He was so convinced in fact that he bought a simulator and RTC was born.

When Killeen started, RTC had one simulator and employed two instructors. Its focus on piston powered aircraft was a hit with general aviation. It wasn’t long before RTC’s staff, and fleet grew.
Today, RTC boasts eleven instructors, eight simulators, and FAA 61, 141, and 142 approval. RTC is also approved by all of the major insurance companies.

Students enjoy more one on one Sim time at RTC
Flight simulation allows us to emulate scenarios and malfunctions more accurately than is possible in the aircraft. In the box, The pilot is unencumbered by the constraints of Air Traffic Control, and can react as he would during a real emergency. Emergencies that are practiced in the simulator are more accurate than those that can be safely presented in the aircraft.
